Austrian Research Institute for Chemistry and Technology

OFI is an accredited research and testing institute – accredited in particular for packaging materials; materials and articles in contact with foodstuff. Long-term experience is present in research, quality assurance, practical test methods and tailor-made product development for packages in food, beverage, non-food, pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries. The OFI (packaging department) has its own membership system which consists of about 20 companies from CEE. Members are food or feed processors, food machinery suppliers as well as food packaging producer. OFI acts as non-profit research partner for national projects. OFI is cooperating with the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in the field of food and packaging development. OFI has staff of 138 employees.

Main roles/competences

OFI and SVE will develop a suitable packaging material for the shock wave treatment.
